From Brasov:
Option 1: approx. 100 km (on road)
Brasov – Predeal – Busteni – Sinaia – Moroeni – Sanatoriu – Bolboci Chalet – Pestera Hotel - Pestera Mountain Rescue Team HQ
Details: When exiting Sinaia, turn right towards Targoviste (winding, crumbling asphalt road) and follow the road to the village of Moroieni. Here, turn right towards "Sanatoriu" (there is a sign). Follow the forest road for approx. 30 km. (at crossroads follow the signs to Bolboci Chalet and Hotel Pestera, exactly in this order). Leave Pestera Hotel on your right and follow the road to "Salvamont Pestera" (Pestera Mountain Rescue Team HQ). The parking area is near the aerial lift station.
Option 2: approx. 80 km (off road)
Brasov – Predeal – Busteni – Sinaia – Cuibul Dorului Chalet – Saua Dichiu – Bolboci Chalet – Pestera Hotel - Pestera Mountain Rescue Team HQ
Details: When exiting Sinaia, turn right towards Targoviste (winding, crumbling asphalt road). After the road starts descending, at the first right you will see a sign towards “Cabana Cuibul Dorului. Follow that road to “Saua Dichiu” and leave “Cabana Cuibul Dorului” on the right side of the road. This is a forest road and it is not recommended for small cars as it is winding, steep and bumpy. From “Saua Dichiu” follow the sign to “Cabana Bolboci” – “Hotel Pestera” (the road descends to the left).
We recommend the first option from Brasov. The second is recommended only if you have an off-road car and you must reach the Start / Finish area as soon as possible.
